○Pregnancy and deliveryd
If you become pregnant, report to the Health Center to receive your Maternity
Handbook. The Health Center provides seminars and consultation services to future
mothers and fathers.
After the delivery, receive health checks, immunizations, health consultation services
and seminars.

○Nurseries and kindergartens
Tokoname City runs nurseries and kindergartens. Nurseries take care of your children
for you if you (parents) or other cohabiting family members cannot look after them
due to work, illness or for other reasons. Kindergartens provide your children with
preschool education. These services are available for children between 36 months old
and entry to elementary school. Some nurseries provide service for 0 to 2 year-old
infants.

○Elementary School, Junior High School, and High School education
A child can enter elementary school the first April after becoming six years old, and
there receives a six-year education. After the child graduates from elementary
school, he or she can join junior high school, for a three-year education. Following
compulsory education at elementary and junior high school, the child may proceed to
high school for general or specified education, which normally comprises a three-year
curriculum.

○University and college education
Higher education is mainly provided at universities and junior colleges. You can receive
advanced and specialized education at these institutions. Normally, the curriculum for
universities takes four years, that for junior colleges takes two years.

To consult about getting a job, you can visit the Local Employment Service inside City
Hall, or Hello Work in Handa City near Tokoname.

○Nursing service for senior citizens
Under the nursing insurance system, you can receive nursing service, life support and
consultation service for senior citizens. These services are provided to people needing
help in nursing and life support for senior citizens.
